Our History

The Covenant of Green Chapels was founded by James Jufer (Wiccan Priest, Emeritus Minister of Circle Sanctuary) and Andrea Thompson (Norse gyðja, Fayetteville, NC) with the goal of providing Pagans of all rites and banners with places of worship to honor the gods, venerate the Earth as the font of Pagan life, and build strong, loving and resilient communities that will live for generations to come.

The first ritual of the Covenant of Green Chapels is to be held on Samhain, 2026, in which the Rev. James Jufer, First Chaplain of the Covenant of Green Chapels, will ordain Andrea Thompson to the order of Chaplains and recognize her as High Gyðja of Green Chapel Heathenry.
